‘Fire, fire, fire!’ heard Dad croak
I woke and smelt the smoke
My mouth could taste it too
I saw the door, I had to get through
The handle was red-hot to the touch
How would I escape?
I needed to very much
Firemen came to rescue me
I felt as happy as could be.
