Shattered Moonlight

You were born of peace and grace,
An heir of serenity;
An honest sight, of Heaven's light
With an air of mystery…

Yet you don't see what you possess
So gentle, still and true;
You walk the skies
And flood the darkness,
I only wish you knew…

If I promise you're beautiful,
I promise it's all right,
Do you swear you will not cry?
Nor hurt yourself tonight?

I shall bring a mirror,
So silver, so exact,
So precise and so pristine,
A perfect pane of glass…

This will be my gift to you;
To help you through the night,
To shine though clouds that cover you,
Concealing you from light.
