'Mum, am I allowed a penny? Am I allowed a penny?' All my life I've had a wish and keep on finding wells but whenever I drop a penny in, my wish doesn't come true. I've been trying for many years now. It never comes true. As I reach my adulthood I think of giving up. When I get out of the car I see a wishing well, but then I say, 'Oh give it a rest. It won't come true.' So I walk past it.
But my daughter says, 'Dad, am I allowed a penny?'
