Things That Go Jump In The Night

Adrenaline, sweat, terror. I'm under my covers with nervousness living in me as I try to sleep. Nightmares have chased my real dreams away. Noises, scratches, grunting. What is it? Creak! The door opens and something or someone is in here with me, I'm definitely not alone. Questions are whizzing around in my mind like a million splinters of light finding dark shadows to lurk in. Who is there? Will I live or die? I can feel the monster's breath on me. 'Argh!' Hang on, it's got whiskers and floppy ears. My rabbit Poppy has escaped from her cage again!
