Nightmare

Laying in my soft warm bed,
I hear a sudden creak.
I creep downstairs to see what's up;
My knees are feeling weak.
A rustling in the kitchen
Then a quiet, creepy tune,
Coming from the music box
In the living room.
I find a ballerina,
Dancing all alone.
Then coming from the garden,
A terrifying groan.
Suddenly, I see it -
A horrifying beast!
It gallops straight towards me,
I'm going to be its feast!
Just as the monster pounces,
I wake up in my bed.
I don't think I want to sleep again,
I'll stay awake instead!
