How Night Is Different From Day

As darkness creeps into corners,
The bird sings its farewell song to the dying sun,
The Milky Way glitters like a thousand jewels,
The moon a ghostly galleon sailing on cloudy seas,
Strange rustlings from trees,
The leaves beckon you into endless sleep,
Smoky smells fill the air,
Overpowering the sweet summer day,
A howl shatters the silence,
An eerie gale sweeps through the trees,
The world is sleeping,
But the night is just waking up!
