A volcano of pain erupts down my cheeks,
Stinging my skin, eroding my speech,
I tremble in fury, agony, heartbreak,
At being told a lie; for making a mistake.
I'm prickling with cold, but burning inside,
Decomposing away, with nowhere to hide,
No arms to hold me, to keep me safe,
Like an item for auction, I'm free to take.
Grinding my teeth with bottled up rage,
From him, from our story, I'm ripping out the page,
I'll erase the thoughts of his tilted smile,
His false words of seduction that made it seem worthwhile.
When my racking sobs eventually abate,
I empty my mind of my supposed soul-mate,
Letting go, my face bathed by the light breeze,
Wherever the wind blows, I'll let it carry me.
