Earlier this year, we invited poems about young writers' mother or mother figure and we're delighted to announce that our 'Dedicated to Mum' winner is Elise Beattie (10) from Aboyne. Elise has won a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates for her mum and a selection of books for herself. You can read Elise's winning poem below:
To Get My Mum A Gift ...
To get my mum a gift,
I'd trek through grassy meadows,
I'd climb upon a mountain top,
With lots of spooky echoes.
Thank you to everyone who entered and we hope your mum/mother figure enjoyed the heart-felt poem you created.
