Pig Heart boy
by Malorie Blackman

Author: Malorie Blackman
RRP: £6.99

The main character is this book is a 13 year old boy called Cameron. He is a boy that wants to be the same as everyone else until he has to have a heart transplant then he is no longer the same as everyone else….

You’re thirteen. All you want is a normal life. But most normal kids don’t need heart transplants. So there’s this doctor. He says there’s a chance for you. But he also says it’s experimental, controversial and risky. And it’s never been done before.

This book is very realistic and I liked it when Dr Bryce says yes to Cameron being able to have the transplant because it really makes you put yourself into Cameron’s shoes and imagine how he would be feeling. I liked the whole book there aren’t any parts that I disliked. It is all AMAZING!

The story made me feel a bit scared because it doesn’t make it obvious what is going to happen to Cameron next. So always leaves you wondering and makes you want to read more. It made me think about what it must be like to think that you are dying and trying to live life to full and then you get the transplant or operation that you needed.
