The School for Good and Evil
by Soman Chainani

Author: Soman Chainani
RRP: £7.99

The School for Good and Evil series is my favourite. The characters are amazingly unique, the description is always detailed, and it all paints images in your mind.

It starts off with a girl called Sophie who lives in Gavaldon and wants to be taken to the School for Good and Evil. Sophie is your average everyday teenage girl, obsessed with beauty and good deeds to make sure she is taken there. Her best friend Agatha thinks the rumours are rubbish about the school, and thinks this is just a cover story. Agatha is what you'd call a witch. She looked, acted, and smelled like one.

When they are eventually taken there, there appears to be a mix-up. Sophie is determined to show her crush, Tedros, that she is Good, not Evil. Agatha, on the other hand, just wants to solve the ancient School Master's riddle and go home.

My favourite part in the first book is when Agatha eventually smiles like a princess, and is shown she was beautiful all along. I just think the words in these parts are really soulful. There isn't a part I don't like! Each paragraph is descriptive, whether is is funny, scary, or sad. A mixture of these three goes into every chapter.

It made me feel happy when I read every line. I can't bear to put it down!

This book is truly amazing, and I had to get the next one when I finished! Soman is a true author, and I wish I could be as creative as he is. If you like the first one, make sure to get the rest of them. You won't regret it!
