The Enemy
by Charlie Higson

Author: Charlie Higson
RRP: £7.99

The Enemy

London: Unknown time or date.
When the disease struck, it was anarchy. It seemed that no-one was safe. Rioters and drug dealers ruled the streets.Until they became the enemy…

This novel by Charlie Higson is about groups of kids, all under the age of 14, trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. A Disease has struck humanity, one that only affects people of 15 years old or more.It ravages the mind and body, and transforms them into mindless, disfigured, horrifying killing machines. All that can save humanity are the kids.

This is one of the best books I have ever read, because of the way that the author develops his characters. The way he describes them gets you attached to them, almost knowing them, before they get killed in the most horrific ways possible. Some parts of this book are so devastating to the reader that you don’t want to keep reading, but you do anyway, because you HAVE to know what happens to the rest of the characters.

Riddled with cliffhangers and sinister undertones, this book is a must read for any teen, and I strongly recommend it.

WARNING: This book contains some strong language and some violent scenes. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED.
