The Girl of Ink and Stars
by Kiran Millwood Hargrave

Author: Kiran Millwood Hargrave
RRP: £6.99

Isabella has always longed to see the other side of Joya - the side her father once mapped. But ever since the governor arrived, a sense of power and resent forbids Isabella to discover these faraway places. So when Lupe, the governor's daughter and Isabella's best friend goes missing, she's determined to be part of the search party. Guided by the map her mother once crafted, she soon realises that these are no ordinary lands and that this is no ordinary map. But with the Tibicenas to fight and Lupe to find, this was never going to be an easy journey.

The Girl of Ink and Stars is a spellbinding book filled with magic, myth and adventure. It is both a thrilling and achingly sad book, which is unique and brings new surprises within each chapter. My favourite part has to be where Isabella first sets out on her journey to find Lupe as it is a point in the book where you can really sympathise with the main character. The book was also written really well with every chapter being as gripping as the last. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
