Pax
by Sara Pennypacker

Author: Sara Pennypacker
RRP: £7.99

Pax is a riveting tale about a boy and his fox, who are separated but fight to be reunited once again. A tale of escape and personal discovery; both journey to find each other but in turn find themselves.
Sara Pennypacker breaks up each side of the story to present themes of danger, loss, fear, joy, and love through the eyes of Pax the fox and his boy, Peter.

One thing I love about this book is that Pax gradually begins to mature and outgrow bond to his boy and civilisation. Although it sounds sad, witnessing his metamorphosis is quite beautiful, and the inseparable connection the two characters have constantly pull at your heart strings. They might be apart but they are and will always be one whole.

Furthermore, Pennypacker explores the destruction war brings - both physical and mental. She allows the reader to view the true effects of war and gives examples of it.

A must-read for anyone willing to fall in love with true friendship and discovery.7.
