Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
by J.K. Rowling

Author: J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter hasn't always been a wizard. Brought up by his muggle aunt and uncle who tried their best to bury the past, Harry was leading an unusual life from the start. With eyes only for their son Dudley, the Dursley's went out of their way to make life unpleasant for Harry. Then, one day, an unexpected letter turned up at number 4 Privet Drive.

Invited to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, Harry soon learns who his mother and father really were, and how he came to have a scar emblazoned on his forehead by none other than Lord Voldemort himself. With friends to be made, spells to be learned and Quidditch matches to win, Harry has never been happier. But then Harry and his friends discover that Hogwarts is being used as a base to protect something, as ordered by headmaster Dumbledore.  However, someone is set out to steal it. Will they find out who and stop them before they get their hands on it?

If you are looking for an action packed book which will have you hooked from cover to cover, then this is for you. Suitable for any age, containing sad, scary and laugh out loud scenes you won't be disappointed. And the best part is - There are six more books in the series and films to compliment them. I can't wait to read the next one!
