A Greyhound Of a Girl
by Roddy Doyle
Author: Roddy Doyle
This book was given to me a while ago, and I have re-read it multiple times!
The story is told from 4 perspectives: Mary, an eleven year-old girl, Scarlett, Mary's mother, Emer, Grandmother to Mary and Mother of Scarlett, and Tansey, Emer's mother, who died of the flu in the late 20s (It makes sense later on in the book!)

The book follows all four people, leading up to the same events near the end of the book. It was very cleverly done, and once I started reading, I couldn't stop.
The actual story was extremely original, from when Tansey comes back to say goodbye to the daughter she left behind, to the final spontaneous trip to the farm where Emer grew up.
This book taught me that life is precious, and that you should never let go of the ones you love.
I would suggest that if you liked something like "Wonder" then you should read this book!
