Fear

A horrendous howl on a misty moor
A shadow from behind a door.
Jewelled dagger drawn from a sheath,
A nameless gravestone awaiting grief.
Fear.
A hooded figure, lurking shadows,
A hangman standing by the gallows.
A pant of terror, a frightened gasp,
Around your heart, an icy clasp.
Fear.
A ghostly moon, in clouded skies,
In distant forests, strangled cries.
Gleaming in starlight, glinting claws,
Bloodstained battlefields, the hosts of war.
Fear.
