Here I stand, old and wise, presiding majestically over my countryside kingdom. Many long years have passed. I have survived the batterings of winter gales and suffered in long, dry summers; parched and desperate for the crisp coolness of autumn. I have witnessed raging wars and seen countless kings of England replaced by fresh royal blood. Yet now, I know that my time is nearing its end. My creaking limbs ache and my body groans under the weight of my acorn heirs. It's time for my abdication; to surrender my throne, for even a grand oak tree doesn't live forever.
