Fireworks

Magical colours like a stretching rainbow
Crackling, banging, dancing across the purple skyline
Acting like children, playing games
Memories flooding our minds
A tender sky like a velvet cloak
Rising happily, the moon watched, smiling
Lions roaring in the air
Lively minds, magic experienced
Around the stars they pranced!
Jumping across the inky sky
Smiles, flashing rainbows
The wonderful dance they practised just for you
Singing, laughing, screaming to us -
‘Watch us! Watch us! We’re here!’
Splashing indigo and pine, carmine and canary
Finally, when the smoke had cleared
The memories flooded back.
