Never Stop Running

Ominous shadows loomed in the distance. Footsteps thundered. Twigs cracked. They
were gaining. Would she make it? Her heart pounded. Her legs were screaming. Her
ears resonated with the sound of their grunts. She could not get away. Her flailing,
golden hair snagged on a branch. Suddenly a deep voice sounded behind her,
reverberating around the forest: 'Stop! You forgot your gloves. Why are you running
away?' Time seemed to slow. She turned, her pupils black pools of hatred, her eyes
shining with vengeance. Silence dominated. The bow creaked, welcoming the arrow. Gone.
