Why Do Dogs Sniff Each Other's Bottoms?

Dogs lived in the time of the dinosaurs. In those days their bottoms were detachable. When they had their important dog meetings, they would unscrew their bottoms and hang them on named hooks at the entrance to their meeting cave.

One day, a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex roared into the cave. In a mad panic, the dogs rushed out, grabbing the first bottom they could find and ran away. That is why, in today's modern times, the first thing any dog will do when it sees another dog is sniff the other's bottom to try and find their own once again!
