A frosty white blanket covering the lawn,
Frozen over is the lake that once contained frog spawn.
Glittering snowflakes fill the air,
Dancing around without any care.
Swirling and twirling before reaching the ground,
Coming down without the slightest sound.
Snowball fights all over the street,
The ice is crunching beneath my feet.
Christmas decorations spread across our little town,
Not a dull colour in sight, except the tree trunk brown.
Silver icicles hanging from branches white,
Sparkling pavement shining in the night.
Cosily sitting around the fire,
Watched the circus,
Dreams of high wire.
Tasty hot cocoa in our hands,
Christmas carols played by brass bands.
All dressed up in furry coats,
As warm as white, mountain goats.
Winter is a magical time,
It's been so much fun putting it in rhyme.
