Shimmers of light bounced off the golden star upon the tree. Children were slipping and sliding along the icy paths. Tracks left by sledges were engraved in the snowy hills. Back in the house Lucy sat on the sofa, untangling tinsel to place along the curtain poles, photos, fireplace and mirrors. Her fluffy jumper sleeve covered her soft white hands and her reindeer slippers shuffled along the floor as she manipulated tinsel. She created a star exactly like the one on the tree, carefully placing it on the window. Wise men would be able to see it from thousands of miles away.
