One Starry Night

Seren waited, glowing with anticipation. As a star she'd learnt to be patient as the Earth rotated until it reached her desired orientation. Seren had yearned for tonight and hoped it would be worth the wait. As the Earth turned on its axis, Seren ignored the volcanic eruption in Japan, disregarded the fireworks in China and dismissed the snow-capped peaks of Austria, glistening below her. She only wanted to see one thing. As Britain appeared beneath her, Seren studied intently until she saw it: the Olympic Stadium! The magnificent opening ceremony began and the star watched as Britain shone.
