The Poppy Field

For the people who died,
The poppies grew tall,
Through the ashes and mud,
They grew big and small.
The poppies are to remember,
The people that fought,
That fought for our country,
So we could win the war.
The war was like hell,
They were balls of fear,
While our guns shivered in the wind,
The Germans started to come near.
And on the 11th of November,
We remember the day,
That we finished the war,
So there wasn't any fighting,
No guns, no more.
