A cloaked figure crept through the dusty library. The only sound that could be heard was the whispering of the wind through an open window. A rubbery hand snatched an ancient book from the top shelf causing it to wobble. At the other end of the shelf an enormous dictionary fell on a brave boy's head. Punctuation Man had been born!
The shadowy thief started to run towards the heavy doors. The alert librarian shouted, 'Stop that man!' Punctuation Man spread his bony fingers, gathered two handfuls of full stops and flung them onto the wooden floor. The mysterious man tripped on the slippery dots and bounced from wall to wall but made it through the doors into the Great Hall. He looked a bit smaller than he was before.
Punctuation Man reached behind his back, pulled out a huge question mark, and threw it towards the robber. It hit him and returned carrying a large chunk of rubber! Once again, he looked a bit smaller than he was before.
Punctuation Man tugged at his sleeve, pulled out a long exclamation mark and hurled it towards the tiny thief. It struck his neck and he vanished from sight. The stolen book fell to the ground with a thud. Our hero strode over to the open book and read the first line...
