Having to leave my family,
Same as all the others,
Who knows where I am going?
At least I'm with my brothers.

The train pulls up in front of us,
My mother's next to me, crying,
Telling us it will all be over soon,
Even though, I know she's lying.

My dad's been away, fighting,
He's been gone for ages,
At least we get letter from him,
He writes pages and pages and pages.

Now we're in the countryside,
With a family in their home,
I miss Mum terribly,
She must feel so alone.

When will this war end?
That I'll never know,
I hope it ends soon,
I just want to go home.
