Time is precious, and so to remind our world of this, we
were each given an irremovable watch at birth, counting
down to our moment of death. Some were afraid of the
inescapable concept of time - always hunting them, drawing
them to insanity, spending day and night trying to hide from
their wrists. However, I liked knowing how many special
minutes I had left. At least I did, until I boarded the plane
that day, and watched my wristwatch change from a healthy
seventy years, three months, forty-six minutes to, as quick
as a heartbeat, a soul-shattering three minutes.
