Dream Traveller

My eyes closed and I drifted away

It was as if I was gone for more than a day,

Adventure, fiction, who knows?

I could feel excitement even in my toes.

Throughout the lands I travelled,

The stars in the night sky dazzled

Higher and higher over land and sea,

The wonders of our world all beneath me.

First stop was Buckingham Palace and Big Ben,

His deafening chimes rang out ten,

Further and further I flew by,

Standing proud the Eiffel Tower lit up the sky.

Over towering snow-topped mountains

Stopping to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain

In the sunrise the White House shone

It's such a shame Obama is gone.

As my journey comes to an end,

I feel my body beginning to descend.

My eyes flicker as the morning sun beams,

I hope I remember the wonders of my dream.
