Firework Guardian

As the fireworks explode, I see you appear,

with sparks in your fur and gold on your ear,

Your eyes are as bright as a firework in the night,

and all the spots on your fur are as blue as the sea.

Your claws are menacing and ready for a fight,

you show your teeth gleaming in the fire light.

I lean forward and feel your fur,

it's as soft as a petal on a spring flower,

I've seen an experiment of colour before...

You disappear into the light.

I was with my guardian but only for a night.
