That time again. Sullen silence falls over the country, we know what's coming. Every year, on this day, at this time the world resets - everything just... gone. Memory. Personality. Us. 'It's been nice,' says Skye quietly, 'knowing you, I mean.'
We nod, but nobody replies, nobody has to. Someone is crying, I don't know who, I don't look up. In a minute it'll all be gone. Everyone will be blank, empty, nothing.
'20 seconds,' the speaker booms.
I screw my eyes shut, willing it to be over. 10... 5... I look up, watching the faces of the strangers around me.
