Sweet Dreams

When I fall to sleep,

all I can dream of is all things sweet.

I dream that my brother and I enter the woods,

then we follow a path to a land full of sweet goods.

A land made of candy, sugar and all things sprinkly,

the houses are made from candy canes, biscuits

and Twinkies.

The flowers are made of lollipops,

and the grass is made from green Jelly Tots.

Everything is so colourful and so bright.

My candy land dream is a real delight.

There are no witches in this dream,

just sugar, sweets and lots of ice cream.

As you can imagine we eat and eat,

everything is edible it's a real treat.

We eat the houses, the grass and the flowers,

this dream makes me feel like I have magical powers.

My brother and I start eating a candyfloss cloud,

when all of a sudden we hear something really loud;

'Who are you? And why are you here?'

We look around and see so very near,

a huge gingerbread man and his gingerbread wife,

with expressions on their faces of trouble and strife.

My brother and I look at each other in shock.

The gingerbread wife walks towards us wearing a pretty pink frock.

The gingerbread wife moans, 'You have eaten

our house!'

My brother and I stay as quiet as a mouse.

The gingerbread wife begins to cry and sob,

her husband looks at us ready to open his gob,

but before he can I say to my brother really quick,

'I think I know what will do the trick...

Run, run, as fast as you can,

he can't catch us he's just a gingerbread man!'

As we are running the dream becomes less fun,

but in the nick of time I'm woken by my mum.
