A Long Dead Poet

Death. It's not like Homer's epics, where the hero ventures down to the Underworld to meet those gone before him. Aeneus as won't see me when I'm gone. No one will. What cruelty is this, to die before I finish my life's work? Can Hades not wait for completion? Ten long years, and this is what the Fates hand to me for my effort - an end worse than Hector's. But if I cannot evade my destiny, destroy my art. Burn it. Please, burn it. Such a great nation deserves a better legacy than the uncompleted lines of a long dead poet.
