Through Thick And Thin

A supporting frame
Of infrangible care
Compassion and guidance
Ardent to share
A lifetime of joy
Compressed in one place
A sea of emotion
Contained in her face
Watch from a distance
Hesitant to meddle
We ride the bike
But she turns the pedal
Misfortune comes knocking
Illness arrives
My health will diminish
But she stays by my side
Despite all our hardships
And years of travail
She pursued pure perfection
But to little avail
When the currents of life
Turn and drag you below
Smiles sliced with a knife
She refuses to go
After all I’ve been through
I now know it’s enough
To have nothing else
If I still have her love.
