Fallen Kingdom

Fairy light fire-bombs
Illuminated silhouettes
As curtains hung like ghosts
Death is no ambition
Smoke curled up from ruins
As belongings flew past my window
Sparks dived down the street, a snow storm
Flash, my country is an inferno.

Daydreams became clear
As soldiers awaited a kiss from their beloved
A sign of death
Fog lay dead on the ground
Death fell from the twilight
As smoke smothered the air
Blood flowing freely
Devastation spread
Flames dancing
Our fallen kingdom.
