Young Writers are delighted to announce their latest national creative writing competitions for both primary and secondary schools.
For 5-7 year-olds, 'Superhero Adventures' is the ideal way to inspire young children to write a short story. Young Writers have created a role play activity and mask templates, so pupils can get into character before writing their superhero story.
For 7-11 year-olds, 'Time-Travelling Tales' is ready to whisk pupils to the past or to the future! With the added challenge of writing a mini saga, a story in just 100 words, Young Writers can't wait to see what exciting pieces of work pupils create!
For secondary school students, Young Writers has 'Spine-Chillers'... Can students write using tension, suspense and atmosphere? Can they write a spine-chiller in just 100 words?
Each competition offers prizes for pupils and teachers as well as the opportunity to be published. Young Writers has been encouraging pupils to get writing poetry, short stories and mini sagas since 1991! Last academic year's competitions were a great success and Young Writers is looking forward to announcing the school winners next year. (Pupil winners are announced upon publication and their prize is awarded at that time.)
All the competition information and resources can be viewed and downloaded for free at www.youngwriters.co.uk/writing-and-poetry-competitions.
So, it's time to pick up a pen and wonder ... where will your imagination take you?
