Local School Wins Prize in National Poetry Competition

In the 2015 academic year, Young Writers invited primary schools across the UK to enter 5-7 year-olds pupils into their My First Acrostic competition. In excess of 20,000 entries from over 600 schools nationwide were received! Young Writers would like to say a huge thank you to all the schools, teachers and pupils who took part. They're delighted to announce the competition winners...

1st Prize - £500

Jenni Bannister, Editorial Manager said: "Pupils wrote some brilliant acrostics, which were inspired by a huge array of subjects, from topics in school to food, books and pupils' names. Writing a poetic form at such a young age is a fantastic achievement - congratulations to all our winners!"
