Take your pupils on a poetry adventure this term... from the jungle or the Artic to the local area or zoo... with Poetry Safari the possibilities are endless. 

This fun activity is a great way to introduce your pupils to different poetry styles, you'll find lesson plans and presentations for acrostics, riddle, and sense poems in the free resources. 

Whether you want to link to your current class topic or book or let your pupils write about a pet or create a crazy creature your pupils will LOVE writing for a purpose and a new audience. 

Once your pupils have written their poems, send them to us by post, email, or uploading them. Our editorial team will then read their fabulous work. Every little poet will receive a bookmark and sticker and those invited to be published will receive a certificate.

Only one entry per pupil, there is no limit to the number of entries per school. Teachers please submit your entries altogether where possible!

Ask your pupils to write their poem (or an adult can scribe/type it), ensuring their name, age and school name are included.

Poems can be on the entry form or an A4 sheet of paper or typed (on a computer or in the Online Writing Portal).

Pupils' poems must be their own work!

Poems can be written in any style and on any theme.
