Reception

Introduce your reception class to poetry with My First Riddle...

This fun competition encourages younger pupils to use their senses and imagination to create heir own original riddle. Your class can write riddles on any theme, from the current class topic to people, places or animals.

Rules

To make sure your entries are valid, please follow the rules listed below:

  • Only one entry per pupil, there is no limit to the number of entries per school.

  • Independent entrants are welcome, please provide your full postal address rather than the school's details.

  • Poems can be on the entry form or an A4 sheet of paper.

  • Poems must be your pupils' own work.

  • Ensure that all pupils include their name and age on their entries.

1st Place

The school with the best set of entries will win a £500 Hope Resource Voucher and the Young Writers' Award of Excellence for inspiring young poets.
