This Is Me: I Am... encourages your students to express themselves through verse. With no limits on theme, length or poetic style, this competition gives them the opportunity to take control of what and how they want to write. 

Each student is an expert in the topic of themselves, so there will be no shortage of ideas. They could express emotion, voice an opinion, speculate about their future or simply write about their lives here and now. 

This freedom, along with the opportunity to be published in a real book, will engage and excite your students, resulting in a classroom full of eager writers. We also supply you with a host of FREE resources to support their creativity, including a lesson plan, PowerPoint, poetry prompts and a greater depth planning sheet.

This Is Me I Am... is ideal for 11-18 year-olds, but students outside this age range are welcome to enter.

Only one entry per student, there is no limit to the number of entries per school. Teachers please submit your entries altogether where possible!

Entries must be your students' own original work.

Poems can be submitted on the entry form or an A4 sheet of paper or typed (on a computer or using the Online Writing Portal)

Each student's name, age and school name should be included on their entry.
