What does the future hold with a new king? Will you be watching the coronation on the 6th May? Are you taking part in any events or parties to celebrate the coronation at school and/or in your community? What would you do if you were King Charles III for the day?

You could write an acrostic using His Majesty's name or free verse describing the coronation. Perhaps you prefer to write a short story about how you celebrated that will be amazing to look back on in 20 years' time!

There are lots of ideas to inspire writing a short story (up to 200 words) or a poem, we cannot wait to read the work which we're sure will be fit for a king!

Only one entry per child, there is no limit to the number of entries per school.

Entries can be on the entry form or an A4 sheet of paper or typed.

The entry must be the entrant's own original work.

Each entry must include the writer's name, age and address. (If entering via a school, include the school name and address instead.)

Stories have a 200-word limit.

Poems have no word limit and can be in any poetic style.

UK entrants only.

If you are teacher, please download & include the teacher entry form with your pupils' work.
