This fun activity is the perfect way to introduce your pupils to the easy-to-teach poetry styles of acrostic, riddle or sense poems. There's an activity and PowerPoint for each one, available to download to make your lesson planning a breeze, along with a host of other free resources all in the Downloads tab.
The open theme means you can link it to your class topic or allow pupils to write about whatever inspires or interests them. (You are welcome to enter using any poetry style!)
Crafting poems for the chance to be published in a book gives pupils a real purpose for their writing, making them eager and excited to write.
Request as many entry forms as you need to get your whole class involved and we will post them out to you free of charge. Every entrant will receive a bookmark and sticker for taking part, and those chosen for publication will also receive a certificate of merit.
