The Young Writers Annual Showcase is the perfect way to celebrate your child's hard work giving them the chance for their work to be published in a book.
From stories and poems to blog posts and essays your child can choose to submit their best piece of writing from this academic year OR write a brand-new piece up to 1,000 words.
It’s the perfect way to celebrate your child's achievement, increase their confidence and showcase their talent!

Rules
To make sure your entries are valid, please follow the rules listed below:
Only one entry per person.
Pupils choose best piece of work they have written this academic year OR write new piece. You do not need a pupil entry form to enter as work can be photocopied straight from pupils' books.1,000 word limit.
Your child's name & age must be included on each page of their entry.
Your child's entry can be a photocopy, typed, scanned, handwritten or scribed by an adult.
All genres and styles of writing are welcome to be submitted.
Work entered into the showcase will be considered for publication in the Young Writers Annual Showcase 2024.
Your child's entry must be their own original work.
UK entrants only.
Entrants must be aged 4-18 years.
Copyright remains with the author.

Prizes
A winner in each age category will be chosen once the showcase is published in winter 2024:
- 4 year-olds
- 5-7 year-olds
- 8-11 year-olds
- 12-15 year-olds
- 16-18 year-olds
Each winner will receive £100 and a trophy.
Independent entrants are eligible for the prizes.
Every entrant receives a bookmark and writers selected for publication receive a certificate of merit too.
(Winners will be chosen from entries submitted in April-Sept 2024. The prizes will be sent in the following term.)
