For International Book Giving Day on Sunday 14th February we have donated a selection of books to the National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough which works in partnership with Peterborough City Council and other local and national partners to tackle intergenerational low literacy in the city through targeted interventions.
Sally Atkinson, Manager of the National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough said:
“Our National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough works to link partners up to provide literacy support which improves life chances and wellbeing in the local community, so we’re delighted that Young Writers are kindly donating beautiful books to our National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough for International Book Giving Day. We are distributing these books to children in care across the city and Dee, the Head Teacher at Peterborough City Council’s virtual school which supports their learning knows that the children will be so excited to choose their own book to take home and enjoy, which will help inspire lifelong love of reading.”
