The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson

Book review by Darius Zafiu

I would like to recommend ‘The Goldfish Boy' by Lisa Thompson. I passionately believe this is a great and wonderful book, that all should be aware of. It is a book that has a wonderfully descriptive story.

The way the book constantly tries to spread awareness of mental health (mainly Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is a true wonder. It will not only give the children a wonderful story of mystery, suspense and much more, it will also teach others about mental health. As for people with this condition (myself included), it is a thrill to read such a relatable book, or a book explaining the furthest this condition can go.

I also enjoyed how all the main children (Melody, Jake and Mathew) all have their own secrets. At the time of writing this review, I am near the end of the book, but not entirely finished the book. The way the story takes place, really makes you want to continue reading. If you aren't a fan of reading books word to word, then I suggest the audiobook version.

Reading this book was a delight, the picture it paints within your head is amazing. This book is a true wonder of its time.
