The Shine School Media Awards

Our friends at The Shine School Media Awards would like to invite you to take part in this year’s celebrations.

How great are your pupils at communicating?

The Shine School Media Awards is a national school competition recognising the communication skills of secondary school children across the country. Entries to the competition can be hard copy magazines or newspapers, digital files, or audio broadcasts and there is a wide range of categories to enter including feature or opinion pieces, photography, illustration, design or podcasts.

This year, to reflect the extraordinary circumstances of living through a pandemic, we have a special category which is open to all media on the theme of ‘Loneliness during coronavirus – how I overcame adversity’.

Your students could not only win recognition for their talent, but benefit from Shine’s ‘Ask the Expert’ videos which offer advice on how to improve communication skills and follow a career path into journalism and its related industries. The competition is national and has high profile and is one of the Stationers’ and Newspaper Makers major projects for young people.

It’s easy and free to enter – just go to www.shine-schoolawards.org to find out more, or email [email protected] - we can't wait to hear from you!
