Pandemic Poetry Winners Announced!

A fierce battle was fought for the top pandemic poet

Pandemic Poetry was our all-ages poetry competition created to provide a safe space for young writers to channel their worries about the future into a positive creative outlet.

The 'Futures of Hope' tagline resembled the collective narrative of young poets who took part in the contest to come together with others to form a body of work, the Pandemic Poetry book, to create a final product that resembled the togetherness of the next generation.

The task of narrowing down all of our entries into just three winners was unbelievably challenging! So many amazing minds poured their hearts into these poems and the quality of work was unparalleled. If you entered, you should be proud!

With that said, we did have to eventually pick one overall winner and two runners-up, so without further ado, congratulations to...

Runners-up:

  • Ben Woodward
  • Nic Port

You've both won yourself a coveted runner up trophy for your incredible poems.

Overall Winner:

  • Malachy King

Malachy has bagged themself £100 and our famous Young Writers' trophy of Excellence. Well done!!!

You can read all three of those poems here (trust us, they're worth the read), and if you want to be in with a shot of bagging yourself a spot in one of our anthologies and maybe some more awesome prizes, check out our open competitions here.
