The World Around Us Poetry Writing Competition

We're inviting all 5-18 year-olds to be inspired by the world around us in our latest competition...

Do you love nature? Have a passion for the environment? Are you concerned about climate change or pollution? Perhaps you love to grow plants or have a fascination with animals or insects. Whether you are a budding David Attenborough or Jane Goodall, or just love the great outdoors, put pen to paper and tell us why.

From haikus to an acrostic to a rap, rhyme, or free verse, express yourself and your ideas for ‘The World Around Us’ in a poem today.

Selected poems will feature in a special anthology and our favourite poet will win a nature-inspired good bag, plus 2 runners-up will each win a £10 National Book Token.

Your World Around Us poem entry needs to reach us by 30th July 2022.

Only one entry per person, the work must be the entrant's own original poem and it must include their name, age and full UK postal address.

Entries can be posted to The World Around Us, Young Writers Remus House, Peterborough PE2 9BF.
OR email your poem to [email protected].
OR upload your entry at www.youngwriters.co.uk/competitions/enter (select the green button and then choose "The World Around Us" category)

Happy writing!
