Eve is one of the core team members here at Young Writers, she loves all things people and supports the whole team to do the amazing work we do! We had a chat with Eve about the important work she does supporting Young Writers and what her part to play in it is...
Can you tell us what you do here at Young Writers?
As HR, my role at Young Writers is to look after all of the amazing people we have working here. I support everyone in the team to reach their potential and to make sure we create an environment that everyone loves to be in.
Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, what do you like to do outside of work?
I’ve got two young(ish) children who keep me really busy – most of the time you can find me playing ‘Taxi’ to one of the hundreds of clubs or events they have on (their social life is definitely better than mine these days!). When I’m not running around after them I love meeting up with my friends and going to the gym!
What’s your favourite thing about Young Writers?
I love to see how passionate the whole Young Writers team are about encouraging creativity for children and how their work gives students an outlet for their thoughts and feelings. The positive feedback we receive is amazing and so nice to hear and we really make a difference here, so supporting everyone to achieve that passes on the good energy.
What is a typical day in your work life?
Every day is different but there are always at least 5 cups of coffee to get me through whatever is on the schedule! On some days I could be interviewing people, making sure everyone has what they need, ordering bits for the office or organising new and exciting things for the whole company!
What's your favourite book/author of all time?
I tend to read business books. I like seeing others succeed and how I can help the whole team to reach their potential and how I can support everyone to do that.
What's the best thing you've worked on here at Young Writers?
I really enjoyed creating a development programme for our team to give them the opportunity to progress through their roles and reach their full potential!
