Meet The Team - Ash Graham - Senior Customer Care Advisor

Ash is one of our amazing Customer Care team and tackles all things Young Writers with a smile and enthusiasm.

Ever emailed us or given us a call? Chances are, you may well have already had a chat with Ash! Ash is one of our Customer Care Advisors and helps anyone who needs a hand. She's always poised on the phone and supports parents, teachers and writers over email wherever she can. We had a chat with Ash about what she loves about Young Writers and a little more about what she loves to do!

Can you tell us what you do here at Young Writers?
I’m a senior advisor here at Young Writers and have worked here for over 2 and a half years. My daily jobs involve speaking to customers either by telephone or email and helping them the best I can. As long as they’re happy, I’m happy 😊 I often help out with mailshot too, this includes packing letters that we send to schools of our upcoming competitions. I also help to submit the entries sent in from the children via our competitions email address.

Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, what do you like to do outside of work?
I have 3 children, so me and the hubby enjoy spending family time with them. We have 5 amazing dogs so have a very busy lifestyle! We often go to forests and beaches and go on a lot of walks and or bike rides. I enjoy meeting up with my friends every now and then for a girly night out and I’m currently in a netball team which I love playing.

What’s your favourite thing about Young Writers?
My favourite thing about Young Writers is not only hearing how proud the parent/guardian/children are about being published in one of our books, but the team too. We all work really well together and are like one big family.

What is a typical day in the life for yourself?
I wake up at 5am as I walk the dogs before waking the children up to get ready for school and work. I start work at 9am and my first daily job is to log in ready to take calls for the day. Whilst waiting for calls to come through I reply to the emails in my box and answer any queries we have. We usually have over 100 emails to answer daily so this keeps me busy for most of the day, but in between this I make sure the team are ok with their jobs and assist if needed. Sometimes I will prepare bookmarks and certificates for the successful writers and arrange to have them sent out to them for their celebration.

What's your favourite book/author of all time?
I have to say, I get so much enjoyment when reading the pieces we receive from Young Writers, it’s kind of cheating but I’d say that.

What's the best thing you've worked on here at Young Writers?
Building and developing the new team to ensure we can help as many young people as possible to see their work in print.

A huge thanks to Ash for taking the time and answering our questions!
