The Bumper 2025 Easter Blog!

Chocolate, family, celebration and fun! We love Easter here at Young Writers!

Easter is a time for celebration, time off, relaxation and fun! We've got loads of activities to stay entertained over the break, develop writing skills and make it a productive time!

What will you be getting up to this Easter? Share any activities you take part in with us on socials, you can find us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Here are some ideas for things to do this break!

Springtime Poems: Spring makes us think of baby animals and the return of life and colour! Open for 4-18 year-olds, write a poem for Pet Poetry about your pet, bunnies, chicks, lambs or any animal for the chance to win an animal adoption package and book token.

Easter Egg Hunt Clues: Easter egg hunts are one of the best things about Easter! Check out our list of 10 ready-made clues anyone can use no matter their home set-up! Save yourself a job and create some eggcitement this year.

Bunny Masks: Use our template to make and decorate bunny masks! Download it here

Super Me: Get the colouring pens out and your thinking caps on. We want you to create your very own superhero and draw a picture! You can add labels too. Will it be a super Easter Bunny saving the day with its egg blaster or a team of crime-fighting chicks🐤? Draw, colour or paint your superhero on our entry form, then post it in:

The Magic Map: What's more magical than waking up to find a bunny has left you chocolate?! Write a story on any topic (though an Easter adventure is a fab idea!) in 100 words and then send it in for The Magic Map competition!

Grim Tales: But what if Easter took a sinister turn? What if the eggs are poisoned, or the Easter bunny is trying to capture children? Write a tale with a twist for Grim Tales

Relaxing Reads: So many books, so little time! Here are some of our recommended reads to keep you engrossed in a good book over Easter.

Unicorn Boy In this comic Brian finds a horn growing from his head, and discovers it's up to him to rescue his friend and save the day!
